Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 10, 2026

Moody builds playlists from a mood you describe and the music you already love. This page describes exactly what is collected, where it goes, and how to delete it. There are no ads, no advertising or analytics trackers, and your data is never sold or shared for marketing.

The iOS app

The Moody iOS app has no account and no server of its own. Your Apple Music library is read on your iPhone, playlists are written on your iPhone by Apple Intelligence, and your history is kept in the app's own storage on the device. Nothing you type or listen to is sent to us. Apple Music catalog searches, playback and playlist saving go directly to Apple under Apple's privacy policy, as do Moody Plus purchases, which the App Store handles. Suggestions under “Or begin with a scene” may use Apple Weather for the city named by the device's time zone; that request goes to Apple and is credited in the app. Deleting the app deletes everything it kept.

What the web app collects

Account details. When you sign in to moody.myclaudeapp.com with Spotify or Apple Music we store the profile your provider shares: display name, email address, avatar URL, provider account IDs, and subscription tier, along with the OAuth tokens needed to act on your behalf (reading liked songs, creating playlists).

Listening taste. To generate a playlist, the titles and artists of your liked songs are sent to our server and processed with Anthropic's Claude models running on our own infrastructure. We store the prompt you typed, the generated playlist name, description and track list, and technical stats about the generation (song counts, model used, timing).

Saved playlists. When you save a playlist to your provider, we record its name, track count, and a link to it in your library.

Location (iOS app)

The iOS app never asks for your location. Its “Local vibes” suggestions are written on your device from the time, the day, and the city your device's time zone is named after. To work out the season and the weather, that city's name is looked up with Apple Maps and Apple Weather under Apple's own privacy policy. Moody never receives the coordinate or the forecast. Nothing about it reaches us.

What we don't do

No advertising, no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs, no data brokers, no selling or sharing of personal data. Catalog search results are cached briefly under the search text alone, not tied to you.

Deleting your web account

You can delete your web account at any time under Settings. Deletion is immediate and permanent: your account, provider tokens, generation history, and saved playlist records are all removed. Playlists already saved to your Spotify or Apple Music library belong to that library and stay there. The iOS app keeps nothing outside your iPhone, so deleting it is the whole story.
